DR. B.R AMBEDKAR COLLEGE

Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, a Co-educational constituent College of University

of Delhi, is fully funded by Government of Delhi. It came into existence in 1991 during the Birth Centenary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar.

The College is committed in providing education leading to student empowerment with an inclination for creative and cohesive group functioning in the global scenario with strong national values. We emphasize on ideals of prevalence and fortitude of the creator of Indian constitution and always remind our students of his tenet. Be the Torch of Your own Destiny

The college is credited with starting professional courses of the University like B.A (H) Business Economics, B.A (H) Social Work and B.A (H) Hindi Journalism.

 

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT

• Under national service scheme (NSS) various training programmes are conducted for local area non professional, non skilled women for their sustainable livelihood.
• Girls are imparted compulsary training unde crime against women, by Delhi Police .
• Adult education programme are conducted time to time .

LIBRARY

• The library has two storied wing which has adequately spaced stacks, a good reading area, is fully computerised and houses about 24,500 books.

CHETNA

• The college organise Annual Inter- College Cultural festival “chetna” and publishes annual magazine “chetna” by inviting articles on wide range issues from students.

   NCC (Naval Army)

• Student opting for NCC get a chance to actively participate in various activities like horse riding, rock climbing, trekking, mountaineering etc.

 GAMES AND SPORTS

• Our students have been competing at the international level, university level, intercollegiate and state level. Cross country athletics, archery, softball, kho-kho, swimming, volley ball, hand ball, table tennis, chess, badminton, football, judo, etc
